Meet the Film Maker – Filipe Masetti

Filipe Masetti is a Long Rider, award-winning writer and the youngest person to cross the Americas on horseback. Over the course of eight years, he rode 27,000 kilometers from Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina, alongside 11 different horses. Today, he speaks around the world about leadership, adventure, purpose and resilience.

Two statues in Brazil commemorate his historic journey. His first pair of boots is part of the collection at the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, while his cowboy hat is displayed at the Sam Centre in Calgary.

Filipe is a columnist for Western Horseman Magazine, a roping analyst for the Calgary Stampede and, alongside his wife Clara, a cast member on this season of CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada. His documentary, The Long Rider, has won 21 international awards, including the prestigious Western Heritage Award.
