    ARWEN BARRETT

    Arwen is a fourth generation Calgarian, and music has been a big part of her life for as long as she can remember. She started marching with the Calgary Round Up Band when she was 12 and has travelled all over the world playing music, even as far as Taiwan with the Calgary Stetson Show Band. Her passion has led her to give presentations at schools all over the city, encouraging students to join the Stampede programs and explore the power of music performance.

    The Percheron breed has a special place in our lives. They just have an elegance to them that is pretty special. I mean, they have the right disposition and athleticism, they’re easy to train. Not that the other breeds can't, but it seems like the Percherons have an ability to be so much more expressive. They definitely feed off the crowd. They want to perform.

He was a driving force in establishing the Peacemaker Court in Tsuut’ina Nation in 2000. His tireless efforts brought about significant changes within the community and served as a beacon of hope for those seeking justice. As a member of the Tsuut’ina Nation Council, Ellery tirelessly advocates for Indigenous rights and holistic well-being, earning the respect and admiration of his peers and community members.
